National Youth Science Forum
The Rotary Club of Mount Lawley provides essential support for the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) by interviewing, selecting and part-sponsoring applicants.
The NYSF is conducted annually over three two-week residential programs held in Canberra (2 sessions,) and Brisbane (1 session,) within the month of January. It is aimed at enhancing the students understanding of the possibilities that arise from a career in STEM areas (Science; Technology; Engineering and Maths,) for students about to enter Year 12.
A series of seminars, debates, workshops and visits to various science, engineering and technology organisations enables science students to gain first-hand experience of the different career pathways and potential opportunities. As each session involves approximately 200 students, it is a great opportunity to meet like-minded students and establish connections for life – both with other students and industry leaders.
